In line with the BELA Act No. 32 of 2024, home education assessments must be conducted by a competent assessor at the end of a student’s Grades 3, 6 and 9. Kairos Academy SA is proud to offer a professional, outcome-based assessment service. This service is legally compliant and designed to support your child’s unique learning journey.

Instead of a “one-size-fits-all” report, you’ll receive a meaningful, individualized assessment that truly reflects your child’s progress. The DBE is also looking at accepting a portfolio of evidence so we won’t need to do an assessment but rather assess your portfolio.

- Pre-Assessment Consultation (15 mins, parent only)

A professional document suitable for submission to the Provincial HOD (submission remains the parent’s responsibility).

- Complete the relevant form.
- Pay your resulting invoice and await further instruction from the Assessor.
- Secure your assessment time slot below. This timeslot must be 72hrs (3 days) after the first two steps have been concluded to allow the Assessor sufficient time to prepare and deliver a quality outcome.
- For Kairos families: ensure your student’s Applecore is up to date before booking the assessment.
We do not offer the Grade 9 reviews, as our students continue with their American High School Diploma in a structured environment.
